California

- Montgomery County Council Enacts Legislation that will Prohibit Sale and Use of Gas-Powered Leaf Blowers (9/27/2023).
- Note: to our knowledge Montgomery County is the first and only county in the country to successfully enact a ban on the sale and use of gas-powered leaf blowers.
New Jersey
New York
- Nyack’s gas leaf blower ban starts 1/1/2024 (1/1/2024).
Oregon
- Ban on gas leaf blowers passed in Portland; gradual phase-out begins in 2026 (3/13/2024).
- Note: to our knowledge Portland is the 2nd largest city in the country to enact a phase-out of gas leaf blowers – behind only Washington, D.C. - and is the largest in land area to do so.
